Course Description/ Drawing and Painting 05155
Creative Art-Drawing/Painting courses cover the same topics as Creative Art-Comprehensive courses, but focus on drawing and painting. In keeping with this attention on two-dimensional work, students typically work with several media (such as pen-and-ink, pencil, chalk, watercolor, tempera, oils, acrylics, and so on), but some courses may only focus on one media.
The first semester for this course is Drawing then second semester will be Painting, this is done so students learn drawing techniques before they begin painting. Students will work with different techniques and also explore Color Theory more in depth in Painting class.
"It doesn't make much difference how the paint is put on as long as something has been said. Technique is just a means of arriving at a statement." Jackson Pollock
